I’m Perry Shelbred

I’ve spent my life learning that the mental game matters just as much as the physical one. I played college football as a kicker, first at the University of Rhode Island on a football scholarship, then at Stonehill College, where I earned my degree in Communication. Kicking taught me that staying present is the foundation of everything you do, on the field and off it.

The thing that shaped me most as a coach wasn’t a stat line. Losing both of my parents and learning to navigate adversity on my own taught me how much your mindset carries you through the hardest moments. Kicking became my way of practicing the qualities I now build into the athletes I work with: confidence, trust in your own vision, composure under pressure, and the discipline to show up and do the work no matter what.

My coaching philosophy comes straight from that experience. I believe every athlete is, as my mom used to tell me, “cut from a different cloth.” My job is to help you find that edge, sharpen your technique, and develop the mental toughness to perform when it counts most. I coach the whole athlete: skill, mindset, and the belief that gets you through the moments that matter.
